Communion
May I Commune Here?
Our Closed Communion Practice: Many people have questions about Holy Communion at our congregation. We are aware that visitors can find our practice to be seemingly unfriendly or even judgmental compared to other congregations which regard it as an act hospitality. It is not our intention to make people feel this way, but we believe that the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) is a complete expression of unity in all doctrine and for hearts that are repentant of all sin. We are happy to welcome non-Lutherans to join us for worship, but receiving the Lord’s Supper is reserved for those who have been examined in the faith. If wishing to receive a blessing during communion, please approach with your arms crossed.
Please reach out to Pastor Deal with any questions. All of our Divine Services include the Sacrament of Holy Communion. If during this past year, you have not worshipped with us and been communed by Pastor Deal, we respectfully ask that you do not partake of this sacrament before first speaking with him. You can contact him prior to coming or you may seek him out before service.
If visiting from a sister congregation of the LC-MS and are in good standing, please inform Pastor Deal of your desire to commune prior to the service.
